The 5th Anniversary Austin City Limits Hall of Fame Induction and Celebration took place at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater on October 25, 2018. The awards and entertainment for the evening was all recorded in its entirety for broadcast on KLRU on December 31 and for broadcast on other PBS stations at a later date.
This year's inductees were Marcia Ball, Ray Charles, and Los Lobos.
Induction and Celebration
Guests for the evening were welcomed by KLRU-TV CEO and General Manager Bill Stotesbery and Terry Lickona, executive producer of Austin City Limits.

Marcia Ball
Marcia Ball is a Texas-born, Louisiana-raised pianist, songwriter, and vocalist who now calls Austin home. Ms Ball is the official 2018 Texas State Musician. She made her debut performance on Austin City Limits in Season 1, 1976. Ball has earned 10 Blues Music Awards, 10 Living Blues Awards, and is a five-time Grammy Award nominee. Marcia Ball released her 17th album,
Shine Bright, in 2018.
Irma Thomas introduced Marcia Ball and presented her with the award.

Ray Charles
Ray Charles was a singer, songwriter, pianist, and producer. Ray Charles was one of the most influential musicians in American history. He pioneered the soul music genre in the 1950s, combining blues, R&B, and gospel. He was also one of the first to perform crossover music by combining country, jazz, blues, and R&B. Charles earned multiple Grammy Awards during his career including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, as well all a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Kennedy Center Honor, and was one of the first inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Ray Charles sold millions of records and still remain a music icon years after his death. Ray Charles first appeared on Austin City Limits in 1980.
John Burk presented the award for Ray Charles to Valerie Ervin, President of the Ray Charles Foundation.

Los Lobos
Los Lobos is a Grammy Award-winning rock band from East L.A. with a career spanning over 40 years. Their sound has been described as a mix of rock, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues, and traditional Spanish and Mexican music. Los Lobos has appeared on Austin City Limits six times. Band members of Los Lobos are: Louie Perez (drums, guitar, percussion,vocals), Steve Berlin (saxophone, percussion, flute, harmonica, Melodica), Cesar Rosas (vocals, guitar, mandolin), Conrad Lozano (bass, guitarron, vocals), David Hidalgo (vocals, guitar, accordion, percussion, bass, keys, melodica, drums, violin, banjo), and Enrique "Bugs" Gonzales (drums, percussion).
Los Lobos was introduced and presented their award by filmmaker Robert Rodriguez.

And a party ensued as all of the evenings musicians performed together and confetti fell. We can't wait to watch the whole show again on New years Eve on KLRU.
