2018 Willie Nelson 4th of July Picnic

The 2018 version of Willie Nelson's 4th of July picnic took place on the grounds of the Circuit of the Americas just outside of Austin on July 4, 2018, of course.  Willie and family, and a few of their friends, got together for a nice big party which included music, food, drinks, sunshine, and one uninvited guest - a thunderstorm. Limelight Imaging was on hand to capture the event for Austin 360/Austin American Statesman A- List.  Here's the way the day unfolded. SXSW Music: Party With Willie

Austin, Texas is known as the "Live Music Capital of the World" and during SXSW, it is easy to see why. Acts from all over the world converge on Austin, hoping to be noticed by the right industry people. Every venue is jam-packed from open to close with musical acts of all kinds. But not all of the of the music performed during SXSW is found in the venues in and around downtown Austin. One of the most unique shows takes place about 30 miles outside of Austin on the grounds of a former movie set. But this isn't just some run of the mill movie set. This set is located on the private ranch of the one and only country music icon, Willie Nelson and the set was used during the shooting of Willie's movie, The Red Headed Stranger . Full Moon Full Life Benefit Concert On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, country stars Jamey Johnson, Jessi Colter, and Shooter Jennings headlined the first annual Full Moon Full Life concert in Austin, Texas. The concert, held at The Backyard Live Oak Amphitheater, was a benefit for the Nikki Mitchell foundation, which is working to aid in the prevention, detection, and cure of pancreatic cancer. The theme of the event was "A Night Of Influence: A Celebration of Waylon Jennings and Hank Cochran. The evening started with a live auction featuring several special items including a guitar autographed by "the red-headed stranger," Mr. Willie Nelson and another autographed by all of the musicians participating in the concert.
