2018 KLRU Kids Writing Contest
Each year Austin's PBS affiliate, KLRU, holds a Kids Writers Contest for local area children. This year's competition expanded to include children in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Kids are encouraged to write and illustrate their own original stories. A panel of judges then read each of the entries and winners in each grade level were chosen. The top three entries of each grade were invited to read their creations to family and the public on May 19, 2018 at the recently opened Austin Central Library. After all stories were read, each student was presented with a certificate and a gift bag filled with items from sponsors Terra Toys and Book People.
