Blues Rules In ATX As Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang Hit The Stage

Blues great Buddy Guy stopped in Austin on May 17, 2018, for a show at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater. Guy was joined on stage by the Damn Right Blues Band. Buddy Guy is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time and a pioneer in the Chicago Blues scene.  He released his first solo album in 1967. Over time, Guy has released 17 solo albums and 16 duet albums. Buddy Guy has earned 7 Grammy Awards and multiple other awards from many organizations during his illustrious career. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.  Jonny Lang Opening for Buddy Guy was blues, gospel, and rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist Jonny Lang. Lang, who began playing guitar at age 12,  has released 8 albums. He earned a Grammy Award in 2007 for the Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album for " Turn Around ."

One of the most talented guitarists around, Jonny Lang stopped by Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater on July 30, 2016. The Grammy Award-winning blues, gospel and rock singer, songwriter and guitarist phenom lite-up the stage with his extraordinary abilities. After touring in February and March of this year with Experience Hendrix, and then canceling his solo tour stops in April due to his wife's pregnancy complications, Lang is back on the road and touring across the country. Lang has a talented group of musicians backing him on this tour: Barry Alexander on drums, James Anton on bass, Akil Thompson on rhythm guitar, Dwan Hill on keys, and Missi Hale on background vocals. Jonny is scheduled to be tearin' it up on his guitar through mid December in venues all across the country. Experience Hendrix, a tribute to the great Jimi Hendrix rolled into Austin City Limits Live on September 28, 2014. The tour, which pays tribute to the music and legacy of Hendrix features a great array of talented musicians including Zakk Wylde, Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Doyle Bramhall II, Eric Johnson, Rich Robinson, Mato Nanji, Billy Cox, and Chris Layton.
