Covering the Limelight in ATX

The Second Annual Austin Chicken Wing Festival took place on May 20, 2018, on the grounds of the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. Austinites love food festivals, and chicken wings are definitely no exception, so a little rain storm wasn't going to damped the spirits of 1,800 culinary fans as they devoured 15,000 chicken wings. Chicken wings can come in many different shapes and flavors. All are YUMMY!  Nearly 20 vendors showed off their wings for this competition. Austin loves festivals, especially those involving music or food. So when the the First Annual Austin Chicken Wing Festival took place on April 2, 2017, at the Historic Scoot Inn in East Austin, it wasn't surprising that hundreds flocked to the event. For those not familiar with the venue for this event, the Scoot Inn was established in 1871. The iconic East Austin landmark began has a humble grocery store in the black community of Masontown. As time passed,  the neighborhood became part of East Austin. Over the years, the building has also served as a saloon and a restaurant, before transforming into the live music venue and bar it is today. The morning started with a little rain, but that didn't dampen the enthusiasm of those waiting to sample the grub. For a basic gate entry fee, fans of the sometimes messy, but always tasty culinary treat were able to sample unlimited tastings from a array of local chefs and restaurants. ...
