The 6th Annual Austin Originals benefit concert featuring Asleep At The Wheel took place at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater on August 19, 2017. The event, which featured a dinner, auction, and concert, benefited the Austin Child Guidance Center, a local nonprofit dedicated to improving the mental health of children and their families in the Central Texas area for over 66 years.
After a dinner provided by several Austin area restaurants, guests participated in a live auction with one of a kind items including an autographed Ricky Williams football jersey, Willie Nelson memorabilia, a special Austin themed sports package, a Formula One race and concert package, and several exotic vacation packages including dove hunting in Argentina.
The evening's festivities were hosted by Austin City Limits executive producer Terry Lickona. During the evening, the 6th annual Phyllis Richards Austin Icon For Children Awards were presented individuals in two categories. Ryan Therrell was honored with the Community Activist Award and Dr Libby Doggett received the Community Professional Award.
