Friday, September 30
The weather was absolutely perfect as the gates opened on the 15th annual Austin City Limits Music Festival. With temperatures reaching only into the low 80s, it felt like Fall finally arrived in Central Texas, just at the precise moment we needed it to.

Asleep At The Wheel
Kicking off the festivities was the one musical constant for Austin City Limits Music Festivals, having performed for all 15 years of Austin's biggest musical party, the 10-time Grammy winning "Kings of Western Swing," Mr Ray Benson and Asleep At The Wheel.

Along with Ray Benson, the members of Asleep At The Wheel include Dave Sanger on drums, Dave Miller on bass, Eddie Rivers on steel guitar, Connor Forsyth on piano, Jay Reynolds on sax and clarinet, Dennis Ludiker on fiddle and mandolin and Katie Shore on Fiddle.

Frightened Rabbit
Frightened Rabbit is a Scottish Indie Rock band. Their members include Scott Hutchison on vocals and guitar, Grant Hutchison on drums, Billy Kennedy on guitar and bass, Andy Monaghan on guitar and keys, and Simon Liddell on guitar.

Banks and Steelz are a Hip-Hop/Alternative duo consisting of musician Paul Banks and Rapper RZA.

The Strumbellas
The Strumbellas are a Canadian Rock band whose sound is described as alternative country, indie rock and folk pop. The members of The Strumbellas are vocalist, guitarist Simon Ward, vocalist, keyboardist David Ritter, lead guitarist Jon Hembrey, violinist Isabel Ritchie, bassist Darryl James, and drummer Jeremy Drury.

Blue October
Hailing from our great state of Texas, Blue October has long been a favorite with Austin audiences. The Alternative Rock band is lead by vocalist/guitarist Justin Furstenfeld along with founding members Jeremy Furstenfeld on drums and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye. The band also includes guitarist Matthew Ostrander and bassist Matt Noveskey.

Radiohead
Closing out night one was British Rock band Radiohead. The Grammy Award-winning group released their ninth album in May 2016 and has been touring since then.

Country star Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane Stapleton appeared together at this year's ACL Fest. Chris is a very successful songwriter, having written hits for the likes of Kenny Chesney, George Strait, and Darius Rucker, and many more songs for artists like Adele, Luke Byran, Tim McGraw and Brad Paisley.

Closing out the night on the Honda stage was the Rock band LCD Soundsystem. LCD is lead by vocalist James Murphy. keyboardist Nancy Whang, drummer Pat Mahoney, guitarist/percussionist Phil Mossman, and bassist Tyler Pope. Joining them in tour are Matt Thornley, Al Doyle, David Ascot Stone, Gavin Russom, Jerry Fuchs, J.D. Mark, Phil Skarich, Justin Chearno, and Korey Richey.
