Boston Christens New Music Venue In ATX

The iconic rock group Boston  stopped in Austin for a very special show on June 11, 2016. While Boston is on tour celebrating their 40th anniversary, Austin is welcoming a new music venue to the scene, the Statesman Skyline Theater at The Long Center. Opening for Boston on this night was with Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx.

The new Statesman Skyline Theater is perfect for Austin; an outdoor amphitheater set on the lawn of The Long Center, overlooking beautiful Lady Bird Lake and the Austin skyline.

Several thousands concertgoers attended the first show for the new venue, some having acquired a "picnic pass" and arriving early with their own food, while others visited the on-site food trucks for their pre-show snacks.

The afternoon temperatures might have started off a little warm for some fans, but The Long Center had plenty of refreshments available and even some air conditioned areas for patrons to relax between sets. (Warm temperatures shouldn't surprise an Austin concergoers. I mean, it is summer in ATX after all.) By the time Boston took to the stage at 8 PM, every one was enjoying the milder weather.

  1. If I would come to this city again, I would be all over these Seattle venues. We ordered Spinach artichoke dip at the server's suggestion and it was absolutely delicious.
