The Austin-based Latin psych-funk band, Brownout ended there latest North American tour with a spectacular show at Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater on Friday, February 27, 2015. The band was on tour in support of their latest album, Brownout Presents Brown Sabbath. Brown Sabbath is a tribute to the godfathers of metal, Black Sabbath. The album features famous Black Sabbath songs, reinvented with a Latin flavor.
Brownout is a 9-piece band formed 10 years ago by members of the Grammy Award-winning Latin revival orchestra Grupo Fantasma. The band is made up of vocalist Alex Marrero, guitarists Beto Martinez and Adrian Quesada, bassist Greg Gonzales, drummer John Speice, percussionist Matthew Holmes, trumpeter Gilbert Elorreaga, trombonist Mark Gonzalez, and Baritone saxophonist Josh Levy. Joining the band's regular members for this show were David Jimenez of Baby Atlas, Kyle Shutt of the Sword and Aaron Behrens of Ghostland Obsevatory.
