The Texas country and outlaw singer, best known for his 1970s classic albums "Juarez" and "Lubbock: On Everything," was joined on stage by a multitude of accomplished musicians known as The Panhandle Mystery Band including several well-known in the Austin area: guitarist Charlie Sexton, who recently returned from touring with Bob Dylan; multi-instrumentalist Lloyd Maines, producer for the Dixie Chicks and many others; cellist Brian Standefer; and vocalist/harmonica player Terri Hendrix. Also performing as part of The Panhandle Mystery Band were fiddle player Richard Bowden, drummer Davis McLarty, bassist Glenn Fukunaga, and New Orleans singer Shannon McNally. Terry Allen's sons Bukka Allen (accordion) and Bale Allen (percussion) also performed with the band. The evenings special guest was Allen's friend David Byrne, the lead singer for Talking Heads.
