Hi, How Are You Day!
The second annual Hi, How Are You Day took place at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater on January 22, 2019, and has highlighted by a benefit concert live-streamed world-wide. The concert included both local and world renowned artists and was headlined by The Flaming Lips. The (HHAY) Hi, How Are You Project, founded by Tom Gimbel and Courtney Blanton, works to educate people about the importance of mental health and well-being. The project was inspired by Austin musician and visual artists Daniel Johnston's famous local mural of "Jeramiah the Innocent." The mural depicts a stylized frog asking "Hi, How Are You." The project encourages each of us to check on the well-being of others by contacting family and friends and asking four simple words, "Hi, How Are You?"
