Legendary Blues guitarist Buddy Guy stopped by Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater on August 31, 2017, as part of his Born To Play Again Tour. Guy was joined on tour by Quinn Sullivan.

Buddy Guy started playing with bands in Baton Rouge in the early 1950s before moving to Chicago in 1957. In 1960, he played with another blues great, Muddy Waters, as a house guitarist at hess Records. He released his first album with harmonica player Junior Wells in 1965 and his first solo album in 1967. To date, Guy has released 17 solo albums and 16 duet albums with various blues greats.

Buddy Guy is considered a pioneer in the Chicago Blues scene. Guy has earned many awards over his lengthy career including 7 Grammy Awards and 34 Blues Music Awards. He has earned the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, the 2015 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2012 Kennedy Center Honor, and the 2003 Presidential National Medal of Arts. In 2005 Buddy Guy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2014 he was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. He is also listed as one of Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

Buddy Guy was joined on tour by the Damn Right Blues Band. The members include guitarist "Ric Jaz" Hall, pianist Marty Sammon, bassist Orlando Wright, and drummer Tim Austin.

Opening for Buddy Guy was 18 year old Blues guitarist Quinn Sullivan. Sullivan hails from New Bedford, Massachusetts. He began guitar lessons at age 3. At age 6, he appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. He first performed on stage with Buddy Guy in 2007 and has been mentored by Guy since then. Quinn released his debut album,
Cyclone, in 2011. He released his third album,
Midnight Highway, in 2017.
