Blaine is best known for his feats of endurance where he attempts to do the impossible. These stunts have included acts like being frozen alive in a block of ice and buried alive in a tank the water, suspended upside down for multiple days, and catching a .22 caliber bullet fired from a rifle in a small cup in his mouth.
On this night we were fortunate to witness one of his amazing endurance feats, oxygen-assisted static apnea. While he did not break any world records with this feat, after several minutes of inhaling pure oxygen, Blaine did manage to hold his breath for an incredible 10 minutes and 16 seconds.
Here's what this endurance test looked like.

Blaine prepares by breathing pure oxygen |
and more oxygen |
and more oxygen |
Blaine plunges into the tank of water |
Blaine settles in ... |
and the time starts ticking away |
One minute in |
Audience members come by to check out the tank |
How does he do this? |
Are there any tubes visible? |
Time for a little meditation |
Over four minutes and still going |
Over five minutes and still calm |
Over seven minutes and maybe not as easy as earlier in the stunt |
Eight and a half minutes and the time goes red to tell us this is getting even more dangerous |
Over 10 minutes and his assistants are standing by |
And Blaine surfaces at 10 minutes and 16 seconds |
Time to catch his breath ... |
and prepare for the rest of the show. |
Blaine thanks the crowd as they show their appreciation. |
