Emo's may not be the largest music venue in ATX, but lately they have been featuring some of the most diverse acts. Some of March's shows have included EDM, Country, old-school Psychedelic Punk Rock, and now American folk. The latest group to be showcased was the husband and wife duo known as Shovels and Rope. They stopped by for a show on March 30, 2017.

Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst are Shovels and Rope. The duo released their first album in 2008. Their 5th album "Little Seed" is now available.

In 2013 the duo won Americana Music Association Awards for Emerging Artist of the Year and for Song of the Year for "Birmingham." They were also nominated for Group of the year in both 2013 and 2015.

Matthew Logan Vasquez
Matthew Logan Vasquez is an Austin-based singer-songwriter and former front man of the indie-rock band Delta Spirit. Vasquez released is debut solo album, "Solicitor Returns" in 2016.
