Fashion Reigns At UT Show: Part 1
The University of Texas at Austin School of Human Ecology: Division
of Textiles and Apparel presented their Synthesis UT Fashion Show 2017 at the
Frank Erwin Center on The University of Texas campus on April 19, 2017.
This show, the nation's largest student fashion show, highlighted a 40-year tradition and featured the creations of 22 senior design students. Each student showed off their skills with sewing, pattern making and fabric selection while creating Active Wear, Evening or Bridal Wear, and a Spring three-piece collection, all of which were created by the students in the Fall and Spring semesters of their senior year. Not to be left out, ten junior designers were chosen to compete in a Director's Design Challenge where audience members texted in a vote for their favorite creation.
Honorable Mention Bridal Wear Competition

The talent displayed by these students is remarkable. From
conception to completed project, many long hours were put into these incredible
pieces. In order for our viewers to have a chance to view all of the student's
work, this post will be divided into two parts: 1. Active Wear and
Evening/Bridal 2. Spring Three-Piece Collections, Director’s Design Challenge,
