2018 Trash Makeover Challenge

The 8th annual Texas Campaign for the Environment's Trash Makeover Challenge took place on September 22, 2018, at the AFS Cinema. The event is held each year to raise funds and bring awareness to the TCE's goal of fighting pollution.

Each year artists from around the state showcase incredible couture designs created with recycled and repurposed materials. All garments submitted for the competition must be made from 90% recycled materials or reconstructed textiles.

This years makeover challenge theme was Reels to Runway. Designers chose movies from one of these categories: Fantasy, Comedy, Drama, Sci-Fi, or Thriller. They then created a one-of-a-kind piece to represent that film.

Once again the public turned out to show their support for these talented designers. They were greeted with a red carpet and decorations bringing the movie theme to life.
