Rick Springfield Celebrates BOB FM's Birthday

There's nothing like a great birthday party to get people excited and when the "Birthday Boy" is a fan-favorite radio station, well, there's bound to be some awesome music associated with that party. Such was the case when local radio station 103.5 Bob FM, whose mantra is "We Play Anything," celebrated there 11th birthday on October 22, 2015 at the Cedar Park Center with a special bash featuring Loverboy, The Romantics and Rick Springfield.


Opening the evening were The Romantics. Formed in 1976, the new wave/power pop band consists of lead vocalist Wally Palmar, lead guitarist Mike Skill, bassist Rich Cole and drummer Brad Elvis.


The Romantics are best known for their hit singles "What I Like About You" and "Talking In Your Sleep."

Next up on the night was Loverboy. This multi-platinum selling Canadian rock group was formed in 1979 and are best remembered for their hits "Turn Me Loose" and "Working For The Weekend." The band members are Mike Reno - lead vocals, Paul Dean - guitar, Matt Frenette - drums, Doug Johnson - keys and sax, and Ken "Spider" Sinnaveve - bass.

Loverboy

Rick Springfield is a multi-faceted entertainer: musician, singer, songwriter, actor, and author. Over the years, Springfield has been known as a teen heart throb, a Australian pop sensation, a soap opera star, a rock star, a Grammy-winning recording artist and an accomplished television and movie actor. His latest feature length film, "Rick and The Flash," was released earlier this year.

Springfield is best known for his Grammy Award winning song, "Jessie's Girl." Springfield released his 17th studio album, "Stripped Down" in February of this year.

Rick Springfield's band includes lead guitarist George Nastos, drummer Jorge Palacios, bassist Sigve "Siggy" Sjursen, and keyboardist Tim Gross.
