Motown Legend Visits ATX

Legendary Motown superstar, Lionel Richie, was in town on October 24, 2015, for a special performance at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater. The concert was held in conjunction with Austin Formula One race weekend festivities.








Richie is a music icon. He has sold over 100 million albums world-wide. He has earned an Oscar, 5 Grammy Awards, 16 American Music Awards, 5 People's Choice Awards, and a Golden Globe award, to name some of his accomplishments.







Lionel Richie started his storied career in 1968 as part of the musical group The Commodores. Since that time he has composed countless numbers of songs including many hits for himself and other artists.









Richie has collaborated with many artists over the years, including the world-renowned 1985 charity single We Are The World, which Richie co-wrote with Michael Jackson.
