The B-52's were formed in Athens, Georgia in 1976 and released their first album in 1979.
Although they have not released a new album since 2008, the band still has a strong following and is popular as a party band.

The band includes founding members vocalist Kate Pierson, vocalist Fred Schneider, vocalist Cindy Wilson, and multi-instrumentalist Keith Strickland. They are joined on stage by bassist Tracy Wormworth, drummer Sterling Campbell, lead guitarist Greg Suran, and keyboardist Ken Maiuri.
