Franklin Brings New Food Fest to Austin: Al Fuego, Fresh Off the Pit

Austinites love our food almost as much as we love our music. So when BBQ royalty decided to bring a new food festival to Austin featuring both of these loves, well, Limelight Imaging decided it would definitely be worth a visit to see what all the hoopla was about. That's why we were on hand to check out some of the action during the first annual Hot Luck Food and Music Festival.

The festival was the brain-child of one of Austin's most popular BBQ pitmasters, Aaron Franklin, and took place over five days, Wednesday, May 17, 2017, thru Sunday, May 21at various venues around the Austin area. Some days featured hot musical acts and some featured scrumptious culinary delights from renowned chefs from across the country.

Limelight Imaging checked out two of the food events. Friday evening's Hi Lo featured nostalgic comfort food. The event took place at Fair Market on Austin's Eastside.  Saturday's Al Fuego (which loosely translates to of the fire) featured samples hot off the pit and took place at the Wild Onion Ranch just outside of Austin in Manchaca, Texas.

Here's what the Al Fuego event looked like.
