Red Fest Takes Over Austin

A new Memorial Day weekend tradition started in Austin, Texas this year as the Natty Light RedFest brought three days of music, comedy and outdoor fun to the grounds of Austin's Circuit of the Americas venue and the Austin 360 Amphitheater on May 23, 24, and 25.  Limelight Imaging was on hand to record the action of days 2 and 3 of this event.

The festival, celebrating "the redneck in all of us," is the brainchild of comedian and TV personality Jeff Foxworthy. Known for his comedic one-liners of "You might be a redneck if...", Foxworthy gathered some of America's favorite country and redneck acts to entertain the enthusiastic crowds at this inaugural event.

Some of the big-name acts lending the voices to this fest included Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, Kellie Pickler, and Big and Rich, as well as comedians Rodney Carrington and Larry The Cable Guy. The festival even featured members of the sometimes controversial, but always entertaining Duck Dynasty family, who were on hand to begin the Sunday festivities with a church sermon and wedding vow renewal ceremony.

Encompassing nine different "villages" spread out over the COTA venue, (which was no small feat considering the venue was also being prepared to host Austin's first ever X Games competition starting June 6) the festival included three stages, a sports zone with basketball, volleyball and dodgeball,  a military village with a lounge area for veterans which featured a chili cook off, speed city with go carts and racing simulators, a hunting and fishing village featuring knife and tomahawk throwing, fly fishing and casting competitions and archery, as well as a shopping village and a carnival with games and rides.
