35th Annual Fall Pecan Street Festival 2015

On Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27, one of the areas' oldest and most popular festivals took over the Historic Sixth Street District in downtown Austin, Texas.

The Pecan Street Festival is a free, family-friendly tradition celebrating our city's love for the arts. This was the 35th annual Fall Fest.

The festival is held twice a year, in the Spring and Fall, and invites everyone to come out and sample wares from national as well as local vendors.

Tents lining Sixth Street house everything imaginable from toys to handcrafted jewelry, original artwork, and even the long-time Austin favorite, tie-dyed clothing for the entire family.

Artists were even on hand to produce on the spot caricatures.

There were amazing food vendors for the patrons to choose from including alligator on a stick, shrimp kabobs, corn on the cob, and an old fashioned soda pop stand.

Local musicians filled three stages each day, entertaining the crowds with their unique sounds.

Even the animals got into the spirit of the festival. Many visitors brought their dogs along to check out the event. For those who didn't have a four-legged friend to bring along, they had the opportunity to adopt a new family member from a rescue organization or the Austin Animal Center.

Of course, no family-friendly festival is complete without a few clowns and balloon art. Several were on hand to entertain the kids.

If you are new to the area or have just not had the opportunity to check out the Pecan Street Festival, stop by downtown Austin on May 7 and 8, 2016 to see what you've been missing.
